DBS Bank

A summer inside one of Asia's largest banks, rotating through corporate banking, transaction banking and digital payments in India. I evaluated the products businesses use to move money — IBG transfers, DBS MAX, EPFO statutory collections and UPI — end to end on the bank's internal platforms, and worked with product, operations and engineering on how those flows serve corporate clients. It's where payments stopped being a feature to me and became infrastructure: the problem I went on to work on in production.

Highlights

• Evaluated IBG transfers, DBS MAX, EPFO statutory collections and UPI end to end on the bank's internal platforms, from how a corporate client initiates a payment to how it settles and reconciles
• Compared batch transfers, statutory collections and real-time UPI on speed, cost, failure handling and the operational work each one creates
• Mapped where client-facing workflows leaned on manual operations effort, working alongside product, operations and engineering teams
• Turned corporate client requirements into product input across the three businesses in the rotation
• Used DBS GPT, the bank's internal AI assistant, to research products and policies during the evaluation
